Blockings and
dental fillings
Teeth affected
by tooth decay must be treated with a blocking or dental filling.
To do this, the affected area, the dentine, must be removed
after being completely anesthetized. Once the tooth is clean
it is filled with composite, a much more aesthetic and durable
material than the traditional fillings made of amalgam or
silver.

Did you know that...
If tooth decay is interdental COI
uses matrixes and the latest wedges, which conform adapting
to the surface of the teeth in a way in which, after
the treatment is finished, there will not be any holes
or spaces in between the teeth.

Root canals
Root canals consist
of the removal of the tooth nerve or dental pulp when it is inflamed
and causing an ache or a very sharp pain that cannot be allenated
by the used of painkillers. Once the nerve has been removed, the rooth
ducts are cleaned and filled with special nails. To finish, the tooth
is covered with a porcelain crown in order to protect it.

A root canal
is a complex but painless treatment. After this the tooth
remains insensitive but useful and there is no need for removal.

Prophylaxis
Plaque that accumulates between the teeth and
gums should be removed by a professional. We recommend a dental
cleaning once a year, although depending on various factors
such as tobacco consumption, dental hygene, salivation, etc;
more cleanings may be needed.

Other treatments
Regular dental care may require some of the treatments
we often perform at COI: ultrasound prophylaxis, fluoridations,
bacterial plaque control, education on plaque control methods,
fissure fillings, education on dental hygene, tooth removals,
restorations, rehabilitations... Consult
